Equipment

  • 1 Large pot To cook the pasta
  • 1 Large Skillet For cooking the chicken and sauce
  • 1 Tongs To handle the chicken and pasta
  • 1 Whisk To blend the Alfredo sauce
  • 1 Cutting board For preparing the chicken and vegetables
  • 1 Chef’s knife For cutting chicken and ingredients
  • 1 Measuring Cups To measure pasta and liquids
  • 1 Measuring Spoons To measure seasonings

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Fettuccine Pasta Cooked al dente
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For cooking chicken
  • 1 lb Chicken Breasts Boneless and skinless
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream For the sauce
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated
  • 2 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • ½ tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • ¼ tsp Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 cup Pasta Water Reserved from cooked pasta
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  • While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in the heavy cream and whisk until smooth. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce becomes too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach your desired consistency.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat. Slice the chicken and serve it over the pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute the fettuccine with any pasta of your choice, such as penne or linguine.
  • If you want to lighten the dish, you can use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Add extra vegetables like broccoli or mushrooms to boost the nutritional content.
